Write for Community Assets or the CAI Blog

CAI Keystone’s bi-monthly magazine, Community Assets, is packed with useful articles and information. The chapter’s blog also includes short, timely articles on topics important to the membership.

CAI Keystone relies on subject matter experts within our membership to provide this content. Writing an article for the chapter provides a great amount of exposure to the CAI membership. If you would like to submit an article, please complete the form on this page. Be sure to read and follow the guidelines, below, in order to help maintain CAI’s high standards and ensure that the information presented is of interest to the membership.

Content

CAI will not accept articles deemed to be promotional in nature. Authors may not promote their business, upcoming seminars, or products that the company produces or sells. Articles will be followed by a brief bio, edited by the publisher, which will include information about the author and the author’s business.

Conditions

Acceptance of articles by CAI implies certain conditions, specifically:

  • Community Assets is an informational magazine and articles submitted for publication should be fact-based, as opposed to op-ed pieces. This same provision applies to articles posted on the blog and website.
  • CAI reserves the right to print or post the article more than once and / or use it on the blog and in electronic communications if it deems it appropriate.
  • Acceptance of an article by CAI is not a guarantee that it will be published or posted to the blog or website.
  • By submitting an article, you are representing that said article is an original piece of work written by you or others in your organization and that you have the right to submit the materials. CAI relies upon your representation as fulfillment of its responsibility to exercise diligence in the acceptance of materials.
  • Authors submitting content for publication must agree to comply with the chapter’s Artificial Intelligence policy, if any, and artificial intelligence disclosure requirements.

Submission Guidelines

Articles will only be accepted if submitted in the following format:

  • All content must be in either Microsoft Word or Open Office format and will only be accepted via upload using the content submission form below.  PDFs or other file formats will not be accepted.
  • Please limit the length of your article to approximately 1000 words. Lengthier articles may be accepted, but may be edited for space reasons.
  • All articles must be single-spaced, using Arial 10 pt. font. Please DO NOT indent
  • All submissions MUST include: author’s name, company, title, e-mail address or phone number, and a brief (no more than two sentences) information statement about the author.
  • Photographs for the article may be submitted. Please submit photographs in .jpg format and high resolution. Photographs may be resized and cropped due to space limitations.

Article titles and content are subject to review, edit and change at the discretion of the editorial staff.

Publication Schedule and Deadlines

Community Assets is published six times each year, on the following schedule:

  • January/February Issue – articles due by December 1
  • March/April Issue – articles due by February 1
  • May/June – articles due by April 1
  • July/August – articles due by June 1
  • September/October – articles due by August 1
  • November/December – articles due by October 1

Article submissions will only be accepted electronically and according to the specifications on the Guidelines for Authors document. Articles for the blog can be submitted for consideration at any time. Questions about submitting content? Contact Michael Shaw, Communications Manager.

CAI Keystone’s Community Matters PodcastCommunity Matters Podcast logo

The Community Matters podcast, presented by CAI Keystone and hosted by Chapter Executive Director Tony Campisi, CAE, offers insightful discussions on topics relevant to homeowner leaders, community managers, and business partners working in community associations. Covering a range of subjects from legal and financial issues to maintenance, governance, and legislative updates, the podcast delivers expert advice and practical tips to help enhance the quality of life in condominium, cooperative, and homeowner associations. It’s a must-listen resource for anyone involved in community association living and management.

  • We’re always on the lookout for fresh topics and guest contributors for Community Matters.
  • Guests must be active CAI Keystone members.
  • Episodes are recorded remotely via Zoom. A strong internet connection and an external microphone (ideally) are recommended. Since the podcast is audio-only, no video is required.
  • Guests should prepare a brief list of questions related to their topic. Recordings are conversational, guided by these pre-supplied questions.
  • Episodes typically run 20 to 40 minutes.
