Authoritative research sponsored by the Foundation for Community Association Research supports the aspirations of the more than 70 million Americans who live and work in an estimated 344,500 U.S. community associations. Our mission — with your support — is to provide research-based information for homeowners, association board members, community managers, developers and others. Since the Foundation’s inception in 1975, we’ve built a solid reputation for producing accurate, insightful and timely information and produce:
- Sponsor needs-based research to help community association stakeholders address specific challenges and prepare for emerging issues.
- Publish best practices reports on critical topics like energy efficiency, governance, financial operations and strategic planning.
- Provide research scholarships for graduate students.
- Collect historical data on the development, operation and management of common-interest communities, including surveys analyzing homeowner satisfaction and community manager compensation.
