Notes from the Nest: CAI Keystone Takes Flight for 2026

Dear CAI Keystone member:

I hope your new year is off to a great start!

After our 2026 Committee Retreat this past Wednesday, I’m thrilled to say that our chapter’s new year is starting off in an inspiring, energizing, and exciting way.

Our volunteers enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast, participated in a hilarious ice breaker designed by Chacha Frank, and got a chance to meet with fellow committee members to discuss big ideas and goals for the year.

Oh yeah, they also got to meet our adorable new mascot, envisioned by our staff members and designed by our own Stefan DerKrikorian!

Why a Mascot?
The chapter staff has been discussing the idea of introducing a mascot for some time now. Why? For one thing, because it’s fun! And if that’s not enough, here are some other great reasons: just like sports fans like to root, root, root for their home team, a mascot can serve as a unifying symbol for the chapter. A mascot helps us tell our story in more engaging ways, adding personality to our education, events, and outreach. Did I mention it’s fun?!?!

Why an Owl?
Owls are widely recognized as symbols of wisdom, guidance, and thoughtful leadership, qualities that align with CAI Keystone’s mission. Our members look to the chapter for education, perspective, and support as they navigate the complex world of community associations.

Help Name Our Mascot
We want YOU to adopt the CAI Keystone owl as YOUR mascot. And what better way to do so than by helping us name it? Click the button below to read more about our new friend and to suggest a name. If your suggested name is selected, you’ll win a to-be-announced prize (hint: it’ll probably include some owl related swag).

Missed the Fun? There’s Still Time to Volunteer!
Our Committee Kickoff was a lively affair and our chapter volunteers truly drive the organization. Want to take a more active role in YOUR CAI? Several of our committees – including Annual Conference, Awards, Homeowner Leaders, and more still have openings. Interested in becoming a volunteer? Click the button below to sign-up and join us in a more meaningful way.
