PA House Bill 1289 Presented to the Governor

CAI is pleased to report Pennsylvania House Bill No. 1289, removing racially restrictive deed covenants, passed the State Senate by a unanimous vote on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. The Bill, which passed the House by a vote of 200 to 3 in June, has been presented to Governor Shapiro for his signature.

CAI’s Pennsylvania Legislative Action Committee worked for over a year to secure passage of this Bill so Pennsylvania could join the two dozen other states that have provided a method for community associations to remove racially restrictive deed covenants.
